Why? What price should we pay for liberty? What are the actual risks posed by guns being widely available? Shouldn’t we be aiming for well trained firearms users who store and use firearms responsibility?

They shouldn't be in schools at all! They're minor #kids to even be talked to about becoming suicidal in such field. If they need recruits they need to put their own kids, relatives & friends in the 1st row of the battle field instead of naive young KIDS

I understand "structure & discipline" are important & kids can benefit from such education but, they should NOT be added to such system. On the contrary, they should be excluded from any draft list & NOT ELIGIBLE Until they're 45yrs Old. Let them have a life!
