A war economy is immoral. We need to make a just transition from a war economy to a peace economy. More ROI on every level, including a greater probability of the survival of the human race.

The U.S. spends more on the pentagon than China, India, the UK, Russia, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and South Korea spend on defense COMBINED. Imagine if we stopped spending $858 billion+ on pentagon pork and spent it on healthcare, education, & housing instead.

Time to clean house. Yes, the military budget is embarrassing, but so are many departments. We need to cut across the board, and perform transparent audits to expose fraud and waste.

Yes ... Since 1980 ... the US has had a ..."WAR ECONOMY"... and now Military Spending is just shy of a "Trillion Dollars" a year ... all of it going to "The Military Industrial Complex"

George McGovern suggested the same re-alignment of our economy in the 1970s while running against Nixon and the Vietnam war. It fell on deaf ears (except, I’m proud to say, in Massachusetts) among the corporations that make up the military industrial complex, which owns Congress

Russia’s budget is now 152 Billion, a 248 %(!) increase from Last year . China raised theirs too . The USA raised its DoD budget only 4.1% , well below inflation. Last I checked , Russia and Iran are blasting a large European country.

A lot of that is going to aid Ukraine and fund their side of the war. The US is funding for war instead of engaging in diplomacy. A “peace economy” would mean people would have to stop supporting Ukraine.
