Imagine a culture that teaches civil habits you can be proud of.

You should really look into what they do with parental Child abductions there. I have 3 children that I haven't seen in person since New years day 2008. Japan refuses to allow any child to have custody outside of Japan. Courtesy is great though. Xenophobic child abductions, meh.

I've been to Japan. The friendliest most courteous people I've ever met. The world could learn a lot from them in that regard! Went into a pizza place, and every worker there (cooks included) stopped and bowed to welcome me. They did the same when I left.

( 'civilization' being a region of empire garlanded with capital accumulation centers, slave labor and the prison-industrial complex )

It’s true. In Japan, if it’s crowded, you’re expected to give your seat to elderly. It’s a great place; everyone is kind and considerate, it’s also very safe.

Guess how many mass shootings in Japan? They wore masks when they're sick, before covid. The list goes on. These same children will go on to different schools based on academic evaluations. Their suicide rate may be higher, but who's to say one can't check themselves out?

Meanwhile in U.S. schools the kids learn active shooter drills.

Our culture just can’t accept things like this. When Japan is hit with tsunamis, they gather to clean up after. When America is hit with hurricanes, we gather to loot stores.
