As railroads post record-high profits, the essential workers who keep the trains running are on the job around the clock without paid sick leave. It’s inexcusable that Americans working for multi-billion-dollar corporations can be fired if they don’t show up when they get sick.

Healthy workers are more productive workers. Staying home when you are sick prevents the spread of germs and bacteria to other workers. Paid sick leave is not a radical idea. It is a good idea.

Could have been worse.Truman threatened to draft the Rail workers when they were gonna strike! The rail repair workers in Las vegas which was a hub for UP that helped form the city went on strike so UP moved the hub to Caliente loosing all the good paying jobs almost destroyed LV
