Guaranteeing 7 paid sick days to rail workers would cost the rail industry a grand total of $321 million a year – less than 2% of its profits. Please don't tell me the rail industry can't afford it. Rail companies spent $25.5 billion on stock buybacks and dividends this year.

Big difference in money. However there is no doubt there is more to this story than what is in the headlines. Maybe it would be wise to hold your tongue until we see how it unfolds. Or be a typical reactionary.

If the only thing they are demanding is more paid sick leave then they are certainly not asking much. I am also a die hard conservative

Don’t need to. I think the railroad workers should own the railroads. They would take care of each other as opposed to leaving it up to the capitalist pigs and their lapdogs like Bernie who always are opposed to workers. They won’t even get the 7 days by the time biden signs it.

When you actually see the numbers ... it makes no sense for the President and Congress to push them into this deal!

I’m a retired railroad worker (40 years) for the BNSF. How the railroad treats its employees is criminal. They spend more time looking for ticky-tak rules violations to terminate the employee than trying give them a quality of life they deserve.
