The main reason we should cancel the college loan debt is because it should never have occurred to begin with. From the start, it represented a terrible scam by which financial institutions created a profit center out of the admirable desire of our young to better their lives.

Maybe Deans, Admins, Profs, & Grad Asst's, should have been paid $1/yr salaries??? BTW: MANY colleges/universities are "non-profit" State asst'd schools!!!

You borrowed it. You pay it. I paid for my kids tuition. I’m not paying for anybody else’s.

Let’s not ignore the federal government’s part in this scam! Education loans were never to incur any interest , let alone capitalized and Neg amortization! This fed govt made a deal w the devil to screw those Americans that chose to put in the hard work to achieve degrees . WRONG

Easy to get guaranteed Federal student loans is what allowed skyrocketing tuition. That and a massive reduction in taxpayer funding. If canceling student loans is good then so is canceling medical bill debt for all. Slippery Slope
