It’s good that Biden is calling for an assault weapons ban even though he knows he doesn’t have the votes for one. It’s important that he uses the bully pulpit to stand for the things that matter, even when those who are bought and sold by the NRA refuse to do the right thing.

“Things that matter” would start with prosecuting criminals, but Democrats are unbelievably horrid in this department. Politicians on the right are merely representing their constituents who - by and large - support gun ownership. You people are hypocritical smooth brains.

Gun deaths are not NRA members. Criminals always find a way. Why don’t you start by shutting down all the gun violence in movies perpetuated by Hollywood

Keep the guns, block people under 21 from getting semi automatic rifles unless they have military service.

Reagan Democrats might realize they don't have to start campaigning for the next election a couple months beforehand. They can drop the Reagan qualifier now. Roll out their (aka Bernie's) Medicare For All plan and run on it in 2024. And win in a landslide.
