It’s good that Biden is calling for an assault weapons ban even though he knows he doesn’t have the votes for one. It’s important that he uses the bully pulpit to stand for the things that matter, even when those who are bought and sold by the NRA refuse to do the right thing.

isn't it political posturing like all politicians do? biden only takes stances when he knows he won't have to deliver the solution. he's the neoliberal conman you were just criticizing.

Isn't that his MO? Using the bully pulpit for things he knows he can't provide, just for votes?

So honey, you think "the right thing" is infringing on the constitutional rights of everyone? Really? I'd make a comment about how smart I think you might be or not be but I wouldn't want to offend anyone who reads this. Leave my constitutional rights alone.

Marianne, honest question: is there ever an excuse for citizens being armed? Eg., to restrain government excess? Per nazi Germany-Jews; Maoist China-‘capitalist roaders’; Stalinist Russia-Kulaks; etc etc etc. Are we to rely on man’s better nature? The kindness of strangers?

I respect you deeply, but I'm afraid you're wrong. I have a wife and 3 children to protect. The police may try their best, but they typically only show up to fill out paperwork. The AR-15 is merely a tool. Evil is what's killing citizens. Why don't you promote banning evil.
