It’s good that Biden is calling for an assault weapons ban even though he knows he doesn’t have the votes for one. It’s important that he uses the bully pulpit to stand for the things that matter, even when those who are bought and sold by the NRA refuse to do the right thing.

It's a fools errand and pointless. Assault weapons aren't used in the vast majority of gun deaths and the results of a ban will change nothing.
