If Americans were offered a genuine alternative to the neoliberal system of economics for that for the last 40 years has put corporate profits before their health and well-being, I think that they would take it.

That’s pretty bold to call a progressive economic system based on modern monetary theory that has nothing to do with classical liberalism‘s free market system. Capitalism isn’t failing. democratic socialism is falling on its face

Those offering "new systems" have to understand the legitimate fears of those who've suffered at the hands of socialists, communists & fascists too. Words mean something. What "system" do you have in mind? Name it without fueling populist backlash.

I think the key is to start pushing unionization. It’s Americans’ right to unionize and discuss pay. Weingarten rights for all. It would move a larger share of the economy to working people.
