This rings so true. I always felt that the unresolved trauma of Kent State impacted many of my parent’s generation’s ability to see political problems with any lucidity.

Thank you> this> 100% true.was in US for school,will never forget a teacher walking halls & crying ( i was about 11) told nothing, all were sent home & later @ grandparents I snuck in kitchen to watch tv, saw Oswald killed.Still live the shock of the President murder & so many.

Insightful then and insightful now, Marianne. I feel, and have for a very long time, that a better country, better species, better world is just on the other side of the thinnest of veils. As Joseph Campbell might appreciate, the veil seems guarded by monsters we must defeat.
