Just read that almost $10 billion will be spent on political ads for the midterms. And you wonder why we are so polarized and angry.

In Canada and other places as well, money has nothing to do with elections. It shouldn't play any part in ours either. We need a Constitutional Amendment to establish public funding for federal campaigns.

Complete falsehood. @elonmusk please tell Marianne this isn't how Canada works. Please focus on harnessing love for political purposes rather than fibs, Marianne. 🙏

Oh wow.... Lady, take it from this Canadian. You have NO CLUE of what you're talking about.

What? 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️

If that was the case, Justin Trudeau wouldn’t be PM of Canada

You are utterly ignorant to post something even resembling this. Canadian elections are dominated by dirty money both foreign and domestic.

Of course money plays a role in Canada’s election. Even union a in Canada can donate to the part of their choice. They spend copious amounts on advertising as well!!
2
So if it was publicly funded they would just spend the public's money too. PACs can't be stopped, it's someone else's freedom of speech. Is There a law that can stop me from running an ad for Marianne for president?

Are you advocating for the Forward Party to stop taking CORPORATE / BIG MONEY and recycling the same ESTABLISHMENT SWAMP CREATURES into their new party? How is @AndrewYang going to call anyone else out for BIG MONEY when his new party is operating the same way?
