This isn't meant as snark, but how exactly do you wage peaceful revolution against a violent, unrepentant system? What would that look like?

If we look at the world around us and how his image and message have been so thoroughly co-opted and diluted, we can argue that MLK was largely unsuccessful

That has been since then though. He was extremely successful then! Both the Voting Rights Act and the Civil Rights Act were accomplished, dismantling segregation. SCOTUS gutted the Voting Rights Act a few years ago, which is why we are where we are today with voter suppression.
