If Bernie's windfall profits tax were enacted last year it would have raised $400 billion from just 30 corporations including: -$12.7 billion from Chevron -$9.5 billion from Exxon -$9.5 billion from Conoco That's enough revenue to provide every working class American $2,000.

Interesting, if that had happened, what would be the price of a gallon of gas today? Corps don't pay taxes, they pass that cost on to consumers. So again, what would the price be for a gallon of gas with this tax?

Yes ... and if you included all the major big money corporations ... You could change the face of America!

Awesome. Then when gas is $11 a gallon we’ll be able to use that $2000 to give to the oil manufacturers. Your brilliance astounds no one.

1st off - money is only (or mostly) given to people NOT working so this metric is of less interest right there. If you are advocating for a windfall profit tax, will you support a market decline credit of equal amount?

And they would just jack up gas prices and cut production, got us over a barrel.

Trying explaining this to working class republicans. They think they have the same interests as Fortune 500 companies

Sounds like theft.

All of that tax revenue would be stolen or wasted by the corrupt politicians and do nothing to lower the price at the pump. Next?

One of the first steps to dismantling capitalism is through the redistribution of wealth.

Marianne, that isn’t going to happen, though. The vast majority of Dems are bought off too.
