So ... If you allow stock buybacks ... the process inflates stock prices ... allows companies to avoid investing in their own companies including their own workers ... and ... there's probably a tax dodge in there somewhere as well!

"We", the people would if we were actually had power, but what "we" are stuck with is Plutocracy/Oligarchy/Aristocracy. "We" no longer have any power and the wealthy few will not permit a change that would negatively impact them.
