To say to a generation watching their future stolen right in front of their eyes that they really need to work only through accepted channels - since, after all, to do so has no chance of inconveniencing the institutions that are failing them - is an absurdity they’re not buying.

I think the last generation watched the same thing.

We can’t fix this by voting. We have to talk about the oligarchy, who they are and how to stop supporting them and/or how to get them out of power.

Who’s stealing their future though? The capitalists? Is there to be an uprising? Except there are no proletariats or workers this time around. Just coddled little angst filled technology addicts who resent having to look up from their phones.

The future doesn’t exist so it can’t be stolen. To suggest anyone of any age is entitled to anything in the future is absurd and pure, unadulterated hubris. Check your privilege, as the cool kids say.

If you want change ... you need to stir up the pot ... protest ... and ... inconvenience people ... and once you have their attention ... protest some more ... until you get what you want and need!

Demonstrations at museums and at universities are the height of lazy and low-risk. If they really stood behind these causes, they wouldn’t attack places that are the most progressive and sympathetic.
