The best thing Democrats could do to beat Republicans in the midterms is to provide a genuine alternative to their economic agenda: Universal healthcare, free/near free college, total cancellation of college loan debt. Progressive policies are the ones that motivate and inspire

I so wish this was true… and it is in deep blue areas. But in the areas that determine Senate and House control, unfortunately I have seen little evidence these play well.

Universal medical insurance? This will never pass Congress and cannot work here in the United States, based on the size, diversity, and political polarization we have. We can’t even clean up the massive fraud that hobbles the Medicare system! It’s too big to manage already!
