I would strongly recommend "Hamilton's Curse" by Thomas DiLorenzo. It will give you much insight into how we have gotten a lot of the problems we have now.

IMO - the only "founding father" that had the interests of "the people" in mind. A true revolutionary. That is why you rarely hear about him and there is not one statue in the USA to commemorate him. But they make musicals for money junkies like Hamilton.
