Indigenous People’s Day should remind all of us of the spiritual heritage, indigenous to this continent, that we sought to destroy but which we so need now: connection to land, connection to tribe, and connection to Great Spirit.

Wow Marianne, you have totally nail it again. It's the same here in Australia. We should be seeking wisdom from the indigenous people about to to sustain society over millenia, since they have first hand experience of actually doing it.

Absolutely... It's Columbus Day for the many who want to celebrate the myth & revisionist history of Christopher Columbus's legacy no matter how inaccurate that legacy may be. Also, it's a day to honor & show respect to those who were persecuted by Columbus amongst other's..

Ecological civilization is based on the consciousness that we are part of the Earth, not her masters, conquerors, or owners. That we are connected to all life, and that our life is dependent on others—from the air we breathe to the water we drink and the food we eat.
