Eras of history pass away, and this one will too. This fossil fuel addicted/warmongering/economically sociopathic age of American history will one day be seen as an unfortunate aberration, replaced at last by a wisdom culture emerging like an acorn that will become a giant oak.

You are absolutely right, our largest concern should be what it means to stop being like this. Our food takes oil to grow and move. Changing climate means changes in where rain falls. Rivers are echos of past rainfall. All our cities are on rivers. Hope we figure it out.
