The 80’s were one of the biggest parties in American History. The 70’s were an absolute low point. You can hate on Reagan all you want, but his bipartisan policies (yes, he worked with a democratic house) saved us.

You are very hopeful, Marianne, and I admire that. But anyone who's watched any of the Hillary/DLC-controlled Democratic primaries in recent years knows that they've successfully blocked any hope for change through the electoral process. Democracy appears well and truly dead.

I think the FED is in the process of unloading upon our society the worst recession since the Great Depression. It is part of the Exec Class/Establishment wanting to discipline labor. They are furious. There will be blood running in the streets. 2008 will look like a picnic.

I deeply admire your fight against neoliberalism, like many in America and Europe. But we should get what Gramsci called "cultural hegemony". That in 2022 most people think that Adam Smith was a mere endorser of laissez faire, e.g., proves without winning academia we are doomed.
