The question isn’t whether there are fascist forces at the door (there are). The larger question is why? Fascism would never have gotten the foothold it has now had democracy been delivering in its promises. It has not, and the entire corrupt system is responsible for that.

Both sides of the aisle. Neither speaks or cares for the people. It is all about power/total control and money. No altruism involved.

#Fascism never would’ve gotten a foothold if the #Neoliberals hadn’t helped them every step of the way.🥀

Correct as usual. I would suggest that the primary culprit was trying to maintain democracy within a system of neoliberal capitalism, which is the most efficient engine of inequality ever devised.

I mean, sure, but that seems incomplete. This element has always been among us. Maybe it's an ongoing struggle, always there. It's more like everything has always been broken but as the shit hits the fan, it plays out more visibly. This feels like such a big time in history.

Democracy has delivered on all its promises to capitalism, because these are not promises, they are demands. Now it's capitalism versus everything. Everything is losing. Everything.

Democracy was never intended to be all thing to all people.... just an electoral process to give strength to the freedoms of a Republic. The Federalist Society has destroyed that.
