The question isn’t whether there are fascist forces at the door (there are). The larger question is why? Fascism would never have gotten the foothold it has now had democracy been delivering in its promises. It has not, and the entire corrupt system is responsible for that.

Fascism & communism get to any foothold when ignorance ramps up, once the governments start weakening the education system, getting ahold of the media for their own purposes… no matter which side of the spectrum but populism will win and totalitarianism with it

They're not 'at the door'. they're completely embedded in US society. There's a rep in every group, including private groups of friends. That's how long they've been organizing and operating. These are the same #SOCIOPATHIC types that have always covertly claimed power.

In late stage capitalism, the elite have bought political power. They're using the unlevel playing field to benefit themselves at the cost of everyone else. So, citizens are feeling cheated and turn to a demagogue and facism as a desperation cry for something to change.

The problem is we aren't a Democracy (which is majority rule via direct vote), we have a Plutocracy (Government by the Wealthy) for a government, and have had this forever. But we can change it, anytime we like, without asking for permission.
