As much as I've always admired Serena Williams for what she does, I admire her even more now for who she is. She's giving millions of people permission to think there are things more important than our modern American notions of work and success.

Does the permission to think affect a single mother of three working long hours at Giant Foods? Serena is an amazing athlete, but do we really have to make her into something she is not?

The point to me is that our society should be organized in such a way that that the single mother of three working long hours has a much easier time of it. She should have universal healthcare, free daycare and preschool, greater access to opportunity etc

The main point I retained from your presidential run was, there's plenty of money but way too much is wasted dumping it into the military industrial complex. The things this country could have.
