and have no listening for any of the things America has done right. In fact we're both/and. America has gotten it right at times & wrong at other times, right in some ways & wrong in other ways. We can reckon with our mistakes and also be proud of where we get it right. 2/2

Twitter might not foster nuanced thinking but without that kind of thinking we won't be able to get out of this mess.

I want to talk about how a self-selected-few, anti-democratic, used purposefully induced social hysterias to get into office, & now perpetrate an ongoing coup, a putsch. Every GOP, Party Ruled by Grifters & Bullies, president since Reagan was elected via induced social hysterias.

Some of America's wrongs have been VERY wrong. The indigenous holocaust & the travesty of slavery to start with. The truth is, the whole story of humanity has been marked by tragedy & imo very little has been done right. But we can do it better & that is ultimately our task.

The same flag that flew over Manizar, liberated Dachau. The same flag that brought the Jubilee in Georgia was carried at Sand Creek. They don't cancel each other, redeem, or condemn. They all have to be remembered.
