Mikhail Gorbachev was a visionary leader. The refusal of the U.S. to help Russia when the Soviet Union collapsed was typical of America's arrogance and lack of visionary foreign policy. If we had helped Gorbachev then, Russia's path would probably have not been toward a Putin.

The US didn't refuse to help. The US actively harmed Russia. Massive election interference, support for Yeltsin's military attack on his own Parliament (for its resistance to turning Russia into an oligarchy), NATO expansion, support for neo-Nazis in Ukraine (2014 onward)...

How about being a visionary now instead of 20/20 hindsight. There are a lot of people on the planet working 24/7 to uplift consciousness now.

Gorbachev and Yeltsin oversaw the dismantling of the USSR against the will of its people, and was responsible for plunging a huge portion of the developed world into poverty. It’s a major L for the left to fail to recognize this catastrophe.

Tell that to the peaceful demonstrators in Latvia and Lithuania who were crushed to death by his tanks, or the citizens of Kyiv who were irradiated while attending a parade he ordered go forward despite the Chornobyl meltdown (that he kept secret).
