Given our spectacular failures in Iraq and Afghanistan, our continuing to feed the same war machine that produced them is a sure sign - as if we needed it - that our military budget has little if anything to do with national security.

Spectacular failures? I disagree. The foreign policy of the US regime functions as intended and is incredibly successful from the standpoint of those it is meant to benefit.
