Given our spectacular failures in Iraq and Afghanistan, our continuing to feed the same war machine that produced them is a sure sign - as if we needed it - that our military budget has little if anything to do with national security.

Just as I was starting to lose hope on you, a glimmer of it comes through in statements like these, Marianne! I still hope you would go a step further and point out that "both Dems & Reps" are responsible for this - influenced by corporations who actually run the show!

Should we stand still and watch Russia chew up Ukraine, Finland, and whoever Putin thinks is next?

We have a pathetic government, our politics has been corrupted forever, "the people" don't matter, everything is about self-interests of those in power, the wealthy & educated. Everything is for them, they're royalty and "the people" are nothing.

Any country the United States is occupied they’ve completely destroyed them. Just look at what they’ve done to Italy Japan and Germany alone.

Overall the US Military budget exists to destroy Russia and China simultaneously. Anytime they want to stop being a threat and join the World, we can stop.

ABSOLUTELY! ... I think many in Congress vote for the yearly trillion dollar budget out of "fear" ... fear of being labeled ... Soft on Defense!
