Forgiving $700B of PPE loans most of which didn’t even make it to the workers for whom they were intended while forgiving only $200B in student debt relief is not just an economic decision, it’s social engineering. Jared Kushner’s co. had its entire $800,000 loan fully forgiven.

You realize PPP loans were always intended to be forgiven right? Like that was the main feature of the program.

Once it became obvious how the system was so abused, money should have been spent on finding the cheaters and demanding the money back. You realize some companies took huge loans and just fired people anyway, right?

That much we agree on. The difference is you’re surprised by the resulting cluster-f*ck of government involvement. Whether COVID loans or college loans the resulting inefficiency and abuse is utterly predictable

You are right indeed, @marwilliamson, that the amount forgiven is nowhere near enough given how much they all take & take. However, we know that's not ever going to change. Business as usual in this quite corrupt world... which is why we must focus on building the good people up!
