Cancel student debt. If we can subsidize banks, chipmakers, pharmaceutical companies, big oil, wind and solar manufacturers, telecoms, aerospace, defense contractors, and big agriculture, why not our students?

Americans like fair. If you pay off their debt, then everybody who ever paid off a student debt prior to this should get a tax break equal to what they had to pay too - debt relief gives unfair advantage to some, screws those who were responsible. Totally un-American

I wouldn't mind that tax break. But you don't not right a wrong on the basis that it's unfair to people who were wronged before. That's illogical.

That's a decision they made when they enrolled. Many didn't enroll because of it. Best to subsidize education going forward now, but let those who have taken loans pay them off.
