I grew up in poverty in the mountains of NC. I ate out of a garden, lived in government housing, shopped at yard sales. I joined the Air Force. Earned my GI BILL. I attained 4 degrees and created my own version of the American Dream. I am not responsible for your student debt.

The GI Bill is the point! That was govt funding your education. So the rest of us DID pay for your education. FDR wanted it for everyone but the G.I. Bill for veterans was all he was able to get through Congress. It helped build a middle-class then and would help rebuild it now

That is a false equivalency. GIs maintain our freedoms and need our support and respect. Get a job and pay for college ya bums

Our gov’t gives $$ to for profit colleges yearly. Many have billions & yet charge $30K+ for tuition. We’re paying for educating others more than once. It’s the same with drug makers. They get R+D $$, then charge us huge prices for the medicines we paid them to create.

LOL! Like there was no risk involved!? Like the government didn't benefit from the transaction? Sign up then!
Many of the wealthy people you’re dunking on for taking PPP loans would have been fine without them. The people who wouldn’t have been fine without them are their employees that they would have fired. So maybe reconsider what you count as hypocrisy.
It’s called a job where you are called on to risk your life if necessary. The benefits are not free. Your tweet is a disgrace.
Wow! You are so clueless! GI bill is not free! Do your research! Then you can close your mouth to all active duty and veterans that you have disrespected! How about signing up! See if you can even make the grade! Handle the hours, and then a deployment!
Can I have my mortgage paid off too? I can't do the things I want to do because I'm saddled with 30 years of debt due to my home. I wish I could get a higher degree or a new car... but I was told I needed a white picket fence to live the American dream
How about we first address the out of control cost increases annually for a college education. Otherwise we get to do this again in 10 years when the costs will have increased another 100%+.

The GI bill is an education savings account similar to a 401K. They take money out of your check before taxes and the DOD matches a portion of it. I’m sure all non military federal employees get an even better benefit.

Oh, so he had to get it through Congress and didn’t try and wave a magic pen. That’s the point!
