I grew up in poverty in the mountains of NC. I ate out of a garden, lived in government housing, shopped at yard sales. I joined the Air Force. Earned my GI BILL. I attained 4 degrees and created my own version of the American Dream. I am not responsible for your student debt.

The GI Bill is the point! That was govt funding your education. So the rest of us DID pay for your education. FDR wanted it for everyone but the G.I. Bill for veterans was all he was able to get through Congress. It helped build a middle-class then and would help rebuild it now

Every person has received help from someone, i.e. the taxpayers, in the form of grants, loans, or tax cuts. The wealthy have received tax cuts and are the greatest beneficiaries. Students who are funded by parents are recipients of their parents tax exemptions. Bootstraps = myth.

For an outlying expenditure of $100/month for 12 months, veterans can receive up to $25,162.14 annually as of the 2020-21 academic year. $1,200 is nowhere near the cost of repaying thousands for loans. This is at taxpayer expense.

If you want to forgive their student debt let them serve in the military for four years.
It wasn’t a loan it was a promise made by the government for serving your country. The loan was a promise made by the recipient to pay the loan back. Big difference.
Helping people get an education helps everyone 😉makes for a more educated community ❤️we all benefit❤️

Only 24 cents of federal taxes goes to funding military. And only 4.8 cents of each dollar goes towards helping pay military payroll small price to pay for those who defend our freedom
Yea but she served a term, giving her time and giving a peice of her life for a greater cause, and something that could be life threatening for the greater good, alot of people do a short term in military4-6 yrs, make very small money, the GI bill is different in that respect.
Hardy that was part of the pay and benefits for her working in the Air Force serving her country.
The GI Bill was/is a benefit earned by those who serve in our military. Those who would like that benefit can serve and earn it as well rather than simply asking for a freebie.
