Supposedly it’s going to be $10k off a college loan debt. We give multibillion dollar subsidies to companies that are already making billions in profit, while saying to people who are drowning in despair to expect crumbs in the mail any day now. He should cancel it all.

I have one niece who has $ 20,000 worth of college debt and another niece that has $ 50,000 worth of college debt. In both cases a debt reduction of $ 10,000 would mean something to them.

Stop sending billions to Ukraine keep that money to pay student loans

$10k is not a crumb for a lot of people. If you don't want it, don't accept it.

I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me the moral/ethical argument for transferring a debt from one party (who took on that debt and signed an oath to repay it) to another party (who did not).

Should at least cancel the interest permanently. All payments to principal. They got ripped of with ridiculous tuition prices. I paid my student loan off in 1 year, only was $3k, tuition was way cheaper back then. Electrical engineering.

Biden needs to be given a History Lesson ... Eliminate All Student Loan Debt... make State Education free ... and go back to providing Grants and Assistance as it was prior to 1980 ... the Reagan Years!

A Biden betrayal. This is where the fact that he has a son who lives a wealthy decadent life as a crack addict with a Porsche is relevant. Biden should show compassion when dealing w/ the suffering of all, not just family members! $10K is NOTHING relative to the debt in question!

He can keep his $10k. It won’t even make a dent in my $75k and daily growing debt. I’m resigned that my Social Security— my only source of retirement funds — will likely someday be garnished. This country sucks. #CancelAllStudentDebt @POTUS

Fair point, but I'd recommend a 10-20K amount, phased down based on original principal and trailing 3-year income or something similar. Additionally, limit interest costs. Full forgiveness sets a weird precedent if done in isolation.
