Freedom is radical. It takes a lot of faith in the goodness of people to assume that if supported in self-actualizing they will create a beautiful society. That's why people who believe in the notion of a sinful humanity have a hard time embracing the notion of freedom for all

I believe in the sinfulness of humanity. But I'm less worried about sinful individuals having freedom than I am about sinful bureaucracies and megacorps having too much power over individuals.

Humans are not inherently good. They are selfish, entitled, and narcissistic. You can see all three aspects on full blown display in all forms of public life including music, film, sports, and politics.
