She's right up to a point, but it seems to me the issue is that a fractured society and culture that focuses on differences and equity at all costs instead commonalities and shared values cannot last.
Many look at the possibilities for a genuinely multi-cultural, multi-religious, multi-ethnic melding as the highest actualization of the American experiment.
But some see that as the complete annihilation of what they think of as their identity and power.
Therein lies the clash
