Fascism hasn't gotten a foothold in America due to an inherent desire for fascism. Fascism has gotten a foothold in America because democracy has failed to deliver. Many who say they believe in democracy the most have for 40 yrs stood idly by while far too many people suffered.

Many are attracted to these right wing groups because their lives aren't working ... They are Angry ... and ... They need to Blame Someone ... and ... Trump gave them a place to express that anger!

In WWII we shut down the German and Italian Fascists but American Fascists just got very quiet for a few years.

Not really an economic issue, ignoring a tiger in the room.
We are seeing mass shortages of professionals like nurses, teachers, and social workers. To people like @POTUS @AmbRice46 @WHCOS they apparently think 10k and restarting payments will turn it around. They are worse than Trump.

The most explicit support for fascism seems to me to be coming from economically powerful people, who were at the receiving end of 40 years of special treatment, and perceive voters may now want to change it up. Fascists at the lower end often seem a bit confused about the issue.

Democracy is majority rule. That's why we don't use it.
Marianne, you can skewer your buddy Jacinda for this to your heart’s content (please, please do! 🇳🇿) but don’t leave out the fact that fascists have also used racism to drive a wedge between poor white ppl and poor POC.

Other than tweeting what have you been doing to alleviate the suffering? How have you suffered?
