There is a term we don't want to use because to do so would be to admit something too awful to even consider. Yet it's time that we do. There is behavior going on in this country that is nothing less than the stuff of a police state.

Do you know of any other nation where they brag about having bars on their flag? Once upon a time, 13 stars would dance in a happy circle. Now overcrowding has 50 stars corralled into that same little pen all lined up in neat and orderly rows.

Not really. A Police State would be organized and purposeful. Police violence has non-state oriented causes. The reasons behind it need to be better understood and acknowledged.
