capitalism that isnt unfettered simply buys politicians to take off the restraints. capitalism that isnt unfettered is just on its way. same with crony capitalism. it is just capitalism. it is a system based on a very few getting very rich of the work of the many

I understand that argument, I just don’t buy it. Regulations make all the difference. I support hybrid systems like those in most European countries.

Marianne, regulated capitalism, which is democratic socialism, is currently being destroyed in Europe. The fettering was never enough to keep capitalist predators at bay. The system is the problem. However the solution doesn’t have to preclude entrepreneurialism.

Marianne, don't you understand that if you regulate capitalism today, the capitalists will wake up bright and early tomorrow morning to buy off the regulators? This has already happened enough times for us to know that regulation never works for long.

if you look at the history of capitalism and regulation in the US, that is what it has been. regulations created, shortly after those regulations are removed because the capitalists paid the politicians to remove them. everytime. it is just the way it works.

The systems Europe also cause a lot of issues with capitalism. They do not stop the exploitation and abuse of the global south.
