You’re right on most things, MW. Not this one. We must push back against Chinese and Russian fascism mightily.

Replying to @marwilliamson
Bc self determination is threatened everywhere, bc TSMC (Taiwanese) produces 90% of world’s chips and we just passed the CHIPS act and bc China is know to build back doors in tech giving access to our infrastructure. Bravo @SpeakerPelosi

Why not? Taiwan is an independent country and U.S. trades with her like so many other countries with various govt and civilian people going to Taiwan. China is sabre rattling and so the u.s. does too. No big deal.

Well actually it was power politics. And it was pretty smart actually. the fact is that if the US wants to stay relevant it will have to challenge China's Soft Power programs and Taiwan is a good place to start.

Something tells me it was somehow personally profitable. Wonder what Democrats would have said if Trump did it?

To distract from the insider trading and proceed with the coldwar reboot.

The military industrial complex is thirsty for investment? Remember this when we have to increase the Pentagon budget yet again to "defend US interests" 🙄
