So here’s what Democratic leadership wont tell you- they told survivors in the wake of Uvalde and Highland Park to whip up the votes for an assault weapons ban. Now that we have the votes they’re trying to use this to get a vote on police funding and shelve the aw ban.

They are afraid of the effect it will have on moderates in midterms and I can tell you this right now- they won’t have the votes come August because there will be major backlash against reconciliation. Affectively killing our chances of passing an assault weapons ban in the house

We have the votes for the assault weapons ban get that done now while you can and then focus on whatever you want afterwards. Split it up get the assault weapons ban done tomorrow we have the votes but we won’t when they come back from recess.

And now they’re freaking out because we’re calling them out rightfully so.
