I was speaking to a man in Australia whose father is kept alive due to a pill that costs $30,000. I repeat that, $30,000. The medicine is entirely paid for by Australia’s universal healthcare system, for no other reason than that he is a citizen.1/3

While not perfect our healthcare system is a point of national pride. America has no lack of national pride - you just need to better direct that energy and enthusiasm.

I have a lot of pride in my country. The fact that insurance companies and big pharmaceutical companies block universal health care, however, is a point of shame.

Try working for doctors and begging insurance companies for authorizations for treatments and meds. It's shameful. #MedicareForAll

Some people think "American pride" means applauding every mistake our country makes.

this is true if you go anywhere. they laugh at our healthcare and transportation
I’m American, now an Australian citizen, it’s pretty sobering to become a part of something that the US denies for its citizens. Big Pharma rules the United States and they are stretching their tentacles globally since the pandemic.
