No one in America should have to strike for a safe workplace and a livable wage. Both should be guaranteed.
Workers @dollargeneral in stores across the South are striking against unsafe working conditions and unlivable wages. @RaisingUptheSouth is organizing workers for $15/hr and a union. Workers have vowed not to stop until their demands are met.

Minimum wages are a barrier to entry for small businesses. Big businesses love them.

Tell em Comrade. No one should have to struggle for anything. We're the richest country in the world. If we just split the pie evenly we can erase racial injustice.

No one in the WORLD should have to struggle at all. There are enough resources on this planet to make sure that every single human being is fed, and given water, clothing, and shelter.

Define livable wage. Should the wage support a studio apartment, a 1 bedroom apartment, the deluxe cable TV and internet plan, the latest i-phone with unlimited data? What exactly?

Going into a local store and demanding anything is stupid and unsavory. Also, demand all you want, but at the end of the day profit margins are going to be met, and if they end up getting what they want chances are it’s gonna be 20$dollar general and not dollar general.

Not in an economic system that wants 5% unemployment at all times so there are always more people than jobs so employers don’t have to compete for labor and depress wages. The system is designed to be broken in favor of employers.
