It’s already too late. Better late than never to mitigate. We never listen to the scientists. They aren’t always correct, but they are correct much more frequently than politicians.
As far as my reading of history goes, “the people” never “rise up” against anything. It’s always a small section with a specific grievance that overthrow one elite group and then replace it. #1984
