In 1942 all of America’s manufacturing concerns were converted to the war effort. A merry-go-round gun factory made gun mounts. A corset factory made grenade belts. A stove manufacturer produced lifeboats. A toy company made compasses. 1/2

That’s what we could do today. We could transition our economy specifically & including the fossil fuel industry into a warp speed effort to establish a green energy grid. What we did in World War II we can do today once people realize climate change is the same level threat. 2/2

@Frances_Fisher @valerievonsobel We had a great President in FDR. One we have now inspires division. I do hope Marianne decides to run again. Our country is not being taken serious any more. This has allowed for invasion of #Ukraine. Marianne, be the the light you were born to be.

The US was at the height of empire under FDR. We are now an empire in decline. Going back in time will not fix this. We need leaders to take us into the future, find new ways to structure society. Mutual aid, general strike, mass civil disobedience, etc.

The problem is politics is more of a team sport now. They care more about scoring wins for their party than about the good of the people

In Australia we're getting "once in 20 year floods" several times a year and regular catastrophic bushfires. It's here

We will change that! It didn’t happen in a day for FDR and it won’t happen in a day for us. A lot had to happen for people to see the threat then, just as it’s taking people time to understand the threat now. But they will.
