I wonder how many journalists have already held back from reporting things they know in their heart a Free Press should be reporting, thinking “After what they’ve done to Julian Assange maybe I better not.” Authoritarianism doesn’t just land on people, it creeps toward us slowly

@marwilliamson Just like #BoilingAFrog! I don't know if this is actually true, but there is a [let's call it a] myth that one can boil a frog alive, without the frog actually noticing, if one raises the temperature very slowly. The #PowersThatBe are #TreatingUsLikeThatFrog!

They are paid well and have no scruples.
That's the whole purpose behind the treatment of Assange. It stands as a warning to journalists around the world against scrutinizing those in power in the West.

They had their chance to report the truth when Trump was president. Instead all they focused on was attacking Trump. They are part of the swamp. They are not innocent victims.

Not to mention investigative journalists who get suicided or murdered when they’re on to real stories.

Had they actually done their jobs as a conglomerate instead of being owned, they'd still wield the power. They sold out...now live in constant fear. "Fear" IS the first guy on the roll call to Hell.
