I wonder how many journalists have already held back from reporting things they know in their heart a Free Press should be reporting, thinking “After what they’ve done to Julian Assange maybe I better not.” Authoritarianism doesn’t just land on people, it creeps toward us slowly

I met a young woman selling helium balloons, which I was buying for Julian Assange’s 5️⃣0️⃣th🎈. She told me she had wanted to study to become a journalist, but when she found out what’s happening to #Snowden and #Assange, she changed her mind. She didn’t go to #journalism school.

If only people knew how many investigative journalists already mysteriously died trying to get the word out on certain topics. Even just regular people like William 'Bill' Cooper who dug a bit too deeply got silenced by the FBI.

A stunning look inside the “quiet diplomacy” by the new Labor government on Julian #Assange. The game-planning envisages Australia quietly negotiating with the US, after Assange has been extradited from the UK, and tried & jailed in the US. declassifiedaus.org/2022/07/…

Direct links from this to the fact #COVID was reported too late to stop its spread in 2019; & also to the launch of the #UkraineRussiaWar in 2022.
