I wonder how many journalists have already held back from reporting things they know in their heart a Free Press should be reporting, thinking “After what they’ve done to Julian Assange maybe I better not.” Authoritarianism doesn’t just land on people, it creeps toward us slowly

Journalists?? By the definition of the word, we don't have any of those & haven't had any for some time now... all we have are hacks & "entertainer" who's job is to lie & create division amongst people!! There is no real journalism left!! @DanRather

People need to understand that the best journalists operate outside the mainstream. This is by necessity and not by choice.

Ma’am, the country’s been authoritarian since its founding.

what "they" have done to Assange? what about what Assange has done? certainly the abuses he committed, have no bearing on the legitimacy of any abuses committed against him - but isn't it necessary to acknowledge, and fully explore both, in the full context?

Really hope you decide to primary Biden. You’ve already been much more outspoken about the important issues than he has. For Americas sake, please consider it 🙏

Rev.21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Sadly the press has been complicit since at least WWII. Anyone who doubts that should read the back story on Phil Graham and WaPo in this excellent book: Katharine the Great: Katharine Graham and Her Washington Post Empire a.co/5X9ViwC

👍👍 Bonne question !! "Je me demande combien de journalistes se sont déjà retenus de rapporter des choses qu'ils savent dans leur cœur qu'une presse libre devrait rapporter, pensant "Après ce qu'ils ont fait à Julian Assange, je ferais peut-être mieux de ne pas."

The American government have managed to destroy journalism through fear tactics like this. My heart breaks for Assange since he is being made an example of as to what happens to those who report the truth. Just one more casualty to go into the mass grave the US has made.
