I once met Marianne in Charlotte NC, & found her to be smart & kind hearted. However, like so many Democrat politicians, she has little to no understanding of what inflation is & its cause. She's not alone in this however, to be fair, most Americans are ignorant in this regard.

An unregulated market has done more to create inflation than has anything else. It leaves us in a situation where we have have no capacity to absorb an emergency, with all sacrifice left to the average person to just deal with.

To quote a famous economist, "Inflation is always & everywhere a monetary phenomenon" Meaning that as the total number of individual dollars increases, each dollar's individual value drops a bit. When the Fed dumps Trillions into the money supply, our buying power is diluted.
