Why is life expectancy in the United States so bad? It seems perverse to be richer than these other countries but falling behind in something as basic as “not dying.”

every developed country other than U.S. has universal healthcare; they also have other elements of the social safety net the Western Europe countries have outstanding social benefits for their citizens - my theory on this is, they gave up war in Britain, NHS established 1948
