I will repeat this as long as I have to, when the Supreme Court said in 1937 that the Social Security Act was “unconstitutional”, FDR didn’t ask people to vote harder in the next election, he told the Court he’d add more justices until they backed off, which they did.

for the love of God please realize that this is what the senate make-up looked like back when FDR was making these threats he wouldn't have the power to make such threats if the senate looked like what it is today

The only issue is that's a temporary fix, if Biden adds more justices the next republican will just add 2 more etc and the court will be even more political and more illegitimate than it is now.

You missed the big story in that. He tried and the Conservative Democratic Boll Weevil racist democrats blocked his attempt at expanding the court.
